This is funny, because for years, everyone in Memphis has b***hed that they HAD to go to the hotel instead of staying home. So now, when they let us stay home, people b***h about that.

Personally, I'm don't care about the esoteric issues. I'd much rather be at home than in the East Memphis Hilton or such.

I wouldn't say people are b***hing about being allowed to stay home. They are just pointing out some of the possible ramifications

Given the chance all of us would rather be at home earning a paycheck.

You have to ask yourself - what will the company do to help you out if things don't work as planned

Agreed.....I'd love to camp out at home on a HSBY. Let each individual choose if he wants to and leave it at that.

When you're on hotel stby in MEM and have your own ride CRS will call you for a trip with a ridiculously quick show. Recommended answer -- send the company trans. You'll then have an hour or two until pickup.

If you commit to operating on your own -- you'll be just that -- on your own. You will be held to a much higher standard providing your own lodging and trans than they ever hold themselves to.

Food for thought.

I'm a little confused...Why are they building these MEM Hotel stby pairings, anyway? Isn't the call out for that, 1+30? Or in other words, 30 mins prior to showtime? Are they building these just to gain that extra 30 mins, compared to reserve callout? Weird.

Seems like it would be cheaper to have guys in ARPT Stby. Less credit hours and no room expense.

Moves an 24 hour callout to a 1 hour callout.

R-24s? I thought we were fat? You mean the Reserve As and Bs can't handle it? Besides, I've seen these HTL Stby pairings in open time.

So would they give a hotel stby to someone on general makeup?

CRS recently called me (off R24) to assign hotel standby and offered that I could do it from home in MEM, I accepted. Next CRS statement was "you just need to be to AOC within 30 minutes from us calling". I will be doing future hotel standbys from the hotel.
