I also heard from an ANC ACP that they are working on polar qualification / approval. New version of FMS software for MD11 has many improvements for RNP approaches, polar stuff (dont remember exactly what), and fixing the China FL scheme problem. Polar will let them fly direct SDF - Asia (lighter payloads). It will also help with avoiding Mt. Redoubt problems.

I assume the polar qual will be both MD and 400.
