FDX - Jul Disputed PR's
I think there were 41 disputed PR's in the MEM MD-11. Looks like on the Capt's side there are 4 left. The thing that really gets me is, that most of the trips are the ones that break 8 in 24 and fly Mem to the SEA,PDX,OAK in the same day. These are crap trips, are people really that desperate? It's really sad:(
|
All of the Airbus DP's are gone in both seats.....

Maybe someone is reading here, now there's 5!

Greed hath no limits. Ridiculous!

Congratulations ANC
ZERO disputed in July! Good job, everyone. It looks like "they" figured out that "we" don't play that game.

If people from APC were reading....that number would be ZERO. :( |
I guess my original post wasn't PC enough, and was deleted..let me try again for the moderators:
I'm so "gosh darn" tired of these "silly characters" picking up DP's month after month. Everyone please join me in emailing all of these "ladies and gentlemen"...even if it is a nice email reminding them that they picked up a DP, at least it gets them thinking. The company is laughing all the way to the bank...literally. With this and 4.a.2.b., these "folks" should be asking the company how else we can help the company "make love" to us... |

These one-ways are literally taking money out of our pockets. The fix for these pairings is longer layovers, which means more credit hours. Can someone please link these things.

Couldn't get the link to work but here they are...maybe someone smater than me (doesn't take much...) can do it. The direct links are also on the ALPA website/FDX MEC/on the right side under Jul disputed pairings. Lets get writing...

I always send an email to the f/o's here in ANC. It's not mean or aggressive, but it's a reminder that others know what's going on. Seems like about 75% of the time, they go back into open time. It's worth the effort, guys.

NM Callender Blocker
The Capt on 564/30 June, and 8 July is a non-member callender blocker. I've flown with him and all I can say he's a real richard who likes himself a lot.
But the winner is the 714/2 July guy who picked up four. Nice! Looks like most of these clowns picked up two. The company has got to be laughing it's ars off. |

We out em in ANC. I went through a few these DP flyers looking for anyone I knew to make a few calls. Everyone here should do the same. Nothing like hearing from a "friend" saying you noticed his/her's "Brain Fart" so they can drop it.

One DP got put back into the system for MEM MD11 F/O types. Unbelieveable that these guys just don't get it. Don't pick up DP's! How hard is it?
|
When these bozo's pick up the >8 in 24 pairings they ought to be restricted to only flying those until their eyes start bleeding.....Hey! Got an idea.
Have a Disputed pairing bid. They do it for SIBA. Disputed pairings only for the next 3 months. |

What about the CIC peeps that picked up trips prior to ALPA releasing the DP message?

Are you telling me they are that hard to figure out without guidance from ALPA? The same pairing available every week and not on any lines? |
I just don't get it, how stupid are these guys? The company is having you break 8 in 24 and then "giving" you the required rest of 2 x block ON YOUR OFF TIME...unpaid, duh. Pure arrogance on the company's part, and guys are picking them up like lap dogs salivating for a treat. I didn't realize you could be this dumb and still have the capacity to fly an airplane.
Of course the real problem is if we don't collectively put some pressure on these meatheads in 2 more months we will all be forced to fly them. |

The shame is that if these trips went to a reserve guy, they would be be burned for 3 days...meaning reserve utilization would go up. For the reserve guy...he flys a day trip, but then gets a free day at home. Seems obvious to me....
|
I'm not sure if all the crews that picked those trips up are commuters, but some are. If they've hooked those trips to another pairing, the possibility of an 8/24 violation may still exist. An FAA violation, certificate action and a fine might be what it takes to get some attention here, and you can be assured with the attention crew rest/fatigue are getting, they'll be looking.
What I don't get is, why don't they care? The earlier comments about getting a better contract, or, more specific wording baffle me. Folks, the SIG/PSIT disputed these things! The Company agreed they were bad and allowed the dispute! I shouldn't need better wording to understand these pairings SUCK, and they need to be avoided. DON'T FLY 'EM!!! You know, this next negotiations is going to be very contentious. If we can't hold the line on something as simple as a disputed pairing, what the heck are we going to do when the 23:59 moment comes, and the tough decisions have to be made! |

Tell me how you can hook into one of those things. They are already greater than 8 hrs of block in 24.
Trip 406/14JUL has a 11:33 rest period in SEA. Flight time MEM-SEA is 4:32. Take 1/2 of the rest period, 11:33, to determine how much you could fly in the first duty period. That is 5:46. So, if you could find a trip that blocked 1:14 into MEM, you could hub-turn from it, into trip 406. (1:14 + 4:32 = 5:46) Of course, that's all fine and dandy on paper. As soon as you arrive late from MEM or depart early from SEA...You're violating FARs. There are certainly other snafus that could get 'em as well. |

That's correct. We've had more than one instance of guys not realizing that they need to delay their departure due to late arrival, or not realizing that they can't depart early. CRS will not always alert you to that fact. |
Kinda odd how we DIDN'T dispute these pairings for the June bid month. Isn't that kinda like shooting ourselves in the foot, since June might count toward 3 months of flying them?
I know a guy who had these pairings on his line last month; un-turnable, practically un-swappable, and yes, 8-24 recovery on your days off. Really crappy trips. He was sick a lot... |
Had a problem child come from the planet to ANC some time ago. Brought the same "they look OK to me and fit my need for days off" philosophy with her. Took a few months, but she finally caught on. Emails, phone calls and cold shoulders at 5 pm on the road can do the trick.

No joke. |
Hard Parameters. That's the only way to fix this. Everything else is like putting a bandaid on a broken leg.
|
And seriously guys, even though MEM is so big emailing these folks DOES have an effect. I do it all the time. It doesn't have to be nasty, just let them know that they picked up a DP (as if they didn't already know) and it lets them know they are not anonymous. Even if only the guys on this thread joined me in doing so it would be huge. Login to the ALPA website/FDX page and click on July Disputed pairings on the right and it takes you right to the trip and who's on it - EVEN if the guy is a calendar blocker.
Start emailing please. Again, 2 more months and we will ALL be flying these unsat and uncommutable trips. Possibly even more important is Albie's point about reserve utilization. |

No joke. MANY non-members have different "nicknames" than their VIPS name. Hmmmm .... |
