Question FEDEX-ALPA, Other AFL-CIO Unions Rally for...

Is this really what we want at FEDEX?

*********************************

ALPA, Other AFL-CIO Unions Rally for Healthcare ReformRepresentatives from ALPA and other AFL-CIO unions participated in a Thursday rally in Washington, D.C., to support President Obama’s call for healthcare reform.

Hundreds of trade unionists, carrying signs and voicing their support, gathered outside the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), where President Obama attended an Organizing for America event to discuss his healthcare campaign.

I have been wanting to stop my auto contribution for awhile now. Anybody know if it is as easy as going online to stop it?

Give me a week to check on this. I'm pretty hard core right wing, but I also know the PAC does some good work for us too. Let me talk to legis. affairs and get more info. I'll report back...

Mod note:

Please keep the political bashing off the thread if you want it to stay open. Thanks.

"Topics Not for Discussion

There are currently NO forums that provide a venue for discussing politics or religion. While DreamLaunch Media Ltd. and Airline Pilot Central embrace the diversity the world has to offer, these subjects often are very emotional and there are many different views. In our experience the wide range of views and emotions rarely contribute to a harmonious online community or beneficial contributions to the piloting profession."

Is talking about Alpa supporting Obama's Health care agenda off limits?

But ALPA opposes taxing health care benefits, right? And that's one of the ways to pay for health care reform, right? Am I the only one confused?

Oh no. By no means. In my experience I've found that the majority of FDX pilots are confused. But, it's usually by the facts.

I believe ALPA opposes taxing union health care benefits. At least I think that is what the Teachers Union told them to say. Something that would probably never withstand the first court challenge. It is very similar to saying illegal aliens aren't covered; wink, wink, find where it says we cover illegals.
