Good Plan, not so sure about the Lawyers
I've had the plan for a few years, it paid for itself when I had to get an attorney on my side to fight the Califiornia Tax board over income tax. (Never lived in CA, based in LAX for a few years.)
HOWEVER - I don't think the all lawyers they use are the brightest of the bunch. Needed one in Rapid City for real estate, and he was totally worthless. Check out the attorney that you've been assigned, and switch to another one if needed and Met Life gives you another choice.

Irrespective of what it asks of you on the medical form, one need only report a DUI if convicted- this is straight from a friend of the family who's an aviation attorney. If you are merely arrested and manage to get an attorney to have your charges dropped or successfully plead you down to something less than a DUI, you're now effectively innocent of any wrong-doing. Reporting this arrest, therefore, to either the FAA or your employer -prior to any conviction- is simply asking to have your life complicated.
