Look at the line you were awarded..... Compare it to the R lines that you actually bid (not the default). You will probably find that it matches something that you actually bid. Not the line number, but the R day schedule.

They can do this when they end up with more pilots than lines after the bid pack comes out. They just add additional R lines that mirror existing R lines and if you bid one of those that they mirrored (in seniority order) then you are awarded it and they never get down to your default bid codes.

Chances are that this line matches an R line that you actually bid.....

Usually you get a crew notification that you were awarded a duplicate of Reserve line # such and such. Or this is what I have seen in the past.

My bid award shows me with a reserve line that I did not bid. I bid my choices then at the end bid for the default numbers in this order, VTO, normal line, high pay no c/o, high pay with c/o, normal line, any reserve line.

What the interesting part is there were VTO's given to pilots junior to me. This appears to be an error in awards. But I'm gonna see what the CBA says about this, contact the MEC office and scheduling. I just wanted to see what everyone else thought.

So...What happened?
