Thumbs down Dec bid award

Ok, I'm a little confused. (Those who know me will say it's S.O.P.)

My bid award shows me with a reserve line that I did not bid. I bid my choices then at the end bid for the default numbers in this order, VTO, normal line, high pay no c/o, high pay with c/o, normal line, any reserve line.

What the interesting part is there were VTO's given to pilots junior to me. This appears to be an error in awards. But I'm gonna see what the CBA says about this, contact the MEC office and scheduling. I just wanted to see what everyone else thought.

I think you should call the company and say, "Hey Lucy, you got some 'splainin' to do!" in your best Ricky Ricardo accent

You say you bid "VTO"...Does that mean you put the code down for any VTO? Like 9952?

Hmmm...Call futures in the AM and ax them "whadup?" At least there's still time to fix it.

JethroFDX,

are you bidding pay only?

The only scenario I can think of for a JR pilot to be awarded something you bid is if you are pay only and the bottom VTO guys (SR to you) were bidding VTO pay only as well.

Only 1 guy can be given a pay only line, VTO, or reserve slot and that can create the appearance some JR guy was awarded something out of seniority

Jethro,

Someone activated to your seat between when the bidpacks were available and the bid awards closed. This addition mean't that there were not enough R lines to go around. You R line should mimic the highest R line you could have held.

How bout this, default bids are when you forget to bid. If you bid lines and your not awarded a line you get a reserve line. Unless you put all those codes in at the end of your bid your screwed. Happened to me a few years back. So plan on Xmas in MEM.

I had a similar thing happen to me, but it was really my own fault. I got an R24 line because I couldn't hold VTO and my default bid was any reserve line. Didn't occur to me that I wouldn't be able to hold VTO. I initially had the same reaction as you because there were other VTO lines awarded beneath me. The problem is (at least on the airbus) there were a lot more SIBA VTO lines than regular VTO lines for December, and I couldn't hold a regular one (missed it by one number). The VTOs awarded beneath me were all to SIBA folks, and I'm not SIBA qual'd. It's gonna be a fun Christmas.
