Ups fellows, I need your help.

Going out of town in the morning and won't have access to internet for a few days and need to sign up before i go and please don't send me the ipa web site since i don't get what it says and there is no one in the office to answer my questions.
Thanks for any help.

Regular RDG guarantee will be between 37.5 and 60 hrs for both pay periods within the bid period selected. RDG_A will be no less than 55 hr guarantee for each pay period and RDG_B is 65 hr guarantee for each pay period in the bid period selected.
That's the way I read it.

I think his question is concerning the way UPS makes one skip a pay period with a full line to "pay back" what you owe them. This is confusing. I assume if you bid a 65 hour RDG, but the line one is awarded is only worth 50 hour credit, you will have to fly a 80 hour line the next month. but get paid 65 hours. ?????????????????

1. UPS constructs separate set of RDG lines during each bid period.
2. Each volunteer will bid from this set of RDG VTO and or/RDG Reserve lines.
3. RDG Values range from 37.5 to 60.0 credit hours.
4. RDG Reserve lines may be built with one 8-day block of reserve for a 40.0 value credit and the rest of the bid period is off. (20 days off)
5. No open time pickup allowed except to restore for sick or military drops made during the time of the RDG line.
6. Can still do line improvement.
7. Receive normal health benefits, full vacation and sick bank accruals, pension credit if have at least 37.5 credit hours.
RDG Option A:
1. Same as RDG above EXCEPT
2. If a crewmember bids an RDG line he shall also have the option of designating that he or she is only willing to take a twenty (20) hour pay reduction from the RDG pay period. That is 55 hours pay period paychecks.
Example, you bid an RDG line that has a credit value of 40 hours for first pay period and 52 hours the second pay period.
You will be paid 55 credit hours in both pay periods (Guarantee minus the Option A choice of 20 hour pay reduction)
3. The 15 hour deficit in pay period one and 3 hour deficit in the second pay period are made up by you bidding a regular bid line/reserve in the subsequent bid period. UPS will recoup the differential in (20) hour increments (depending on the original bid) from the crewmember's final paycheck in next regular bid period. Example: You bid a RSV line and it is worth 75 hours. You will have the 18 hours deficit taken from your regular paycheck (Paycheck will be 57 credit hours for the pay period)
You must have a minimum of one (1) bid period between RDG bids. In 2009, bid periods 09-06 and 09-07 are the only bid periods available RDG for the purposes of RDG Option. In my example, yes bid RDG Option A in 09-07, have to bid regular line for 09-07.
RDG Option B:
1. Same as RDG and RDG Option A , EXCEPT a crewmember who bids an RDG line shall also have the option of designating that he or she is only willing to take a ten (10) hour pay reduction from the RDG pay period. That is 65 hours pay period paychecks.
2. Same example, you get an RDG line worth 40 hours and 52 hours. Your paycheck will be 65 hours. You are running a deficit of 25 credit hours in pay period one and 13 hours in the second payperiod. UPS requires that that you must have a minimum of three (3) bid periods between RDG Option B bids. As stated, 09-06 and 09-07 are the only bid periods available for RDG this year.
In this example, If you bid RDG Option B in 09-06, then required to bid regular lines in 09-07, 10-01, 10-02. Assuming guarantee, Your Pay would be 65 hours per pay period in 09-06, and pay back the 38 hour deficit in 09-07 at 10 hours per pay period, or 65 hours each for 09-07, (20 deficit hours) and then the remaining 18 hours in 10-01, in 10 hour increments (so 65 hours pay for first pay period of 10-01 and 67 hours pay in next pay period of 10-01)
The 10 hour option insures a steady check of around 65+ hours per pay period. Hope this makes sense
