Default UPS- Where's the early retirement package?

The early retirement package that was a "done deal" has evidently been pulled off the table. Heard the senior(citizen) member(s) of the EB demanded late hour "enhancements", and UPS walked. With only 15% of the required amount attained so far, this was the bottom guys final hope. It's basically over, boys, except for the daily vacation pics from the IPA...

You heard this, so its all the old guys fault. The company has been and will be in control of this since the beginning. UPS is going to put people on the street because they want too. They have however accomplished a lot of what they wanted , they have got people like you blaming the other pilots for the loss of employment and not management.

I hate to say it but captains make way too much for an early retirement package to work.

The IPA had the ability to take a furlough off the table an protect the QOL for ALL members. With one lousy RDG per pilot, this thing gets done. Take the already enhanced early retirement agreed to, there's a good chance it gets done. There are MANY at the top that don't seem to give a rat's A$$ about anyone below them(QOL or furloughs). The numbers speak for themselves, sir.....

Management lays people off, unions do not. The voluntary program is just that voluntary, we are attempting to prevent a layoff that management wants. They wanted a pay cut and benefits reduction to keep you on the property, that was what they offered. It had no garrantee that they wouldn't layoff if they felt it was required later, which no doubt they would have found that it was required. You are working overtime trying to push the responsibilty onto the union, which is what management wants. You are assisting them and in the process not helping yourself.
