Default APC Anti-Union Ads???

I call Barbara Streisand; this is too much. On Airline Pilot Central Cargo Forum no less, I am seeing advertising for "Center for Union Facts (Things the Unions Don't Want You to Know)" and "Labor Negotiations Training." What up wit dat? If I saw any black helicopters in the night sky, I would swear Mr. Smith bought those ads just to mess with us!

Those ads are served up with no human pre-approval. Although APC could probably put a block on any ads that are offensive to our ranks. Like that one.

Consider this input that I find the anti labor ads offensive and request that APC stop them from appearing.

I find that quite surprising. So they could have an ad for say, a certain bar in Mexico that features a young lady and her burro without their knowledge? I'm skeptical, to say the least. I would hope that those ads will be removed quickly.

Ha, props on the donkey show reference -- not easy to work that one into 'polite' conversation. I think the adds are actually 'Google' ads that are linked to the site without specific review by the site operators (just like the UPS ads that initially made it seem that UPS actually sponsors this site, which it doesn't).

Not my department, but I do believe the ads are generated automatically based on viewer demographics and forum content. Nothing to prevent an anti-union organization from targeting an ad towards pilots...I bet it shows up on other aviation sites too.

Forum ads are selected from an inventory of advertisers and placed by Google Artificial Intelligence (based on inferred content/context). APC has always been labor friendly, although we welcome all advertiser's support that allows us to provide this free resource.

No kidding! I use Mozilla Firefox and have it set where I don't see a thing.
