I to have a question about FDX. . . Is a sponsor a hard and fast rule? Right now I have 6 on-line recs but no sponsor I am # 2-3 in line with the all. Seeing as how they can only rec 1 at a time it could be years until I got a call?

A sponsor is just someone to walk you through a "meet and greet"! If you have 6 recommendations, get one or all to work on getting you on the "meet and greet" schedule - that's the hard part! And once on the shedule, you'll need that person or someone else to walk you through Flight Ops to meet a chief pilot! I got a buddy of mine in to meet the System Chief pilot, but I could not escort him through. He got another of his bubbas to escort him through on the scheduled day!

You need a sponsor, without a doubt. Without it you won't get out of the meet and greet, I promise you.....

As far as I know, the chief pilots have met with enough people to interview until around December. That's the last I heard. This is always subject to change.
