Default IAD - FedEx Shuttle -

hey guys/gals,

I did a search on here, looking to see if anyone knows of a shuttle service between the FX ramp and the pax terminal at IAD??

Thanks!

No shuttle service. I recommend you call the Washington Flyer Taxi 703-661-6655. Tell them you need a pickup at the AIRPORT FEDEX, Caro Building 5. Despite many taxis driving past FedEx it seems to take an unreasonable amount of time for them to show up (I usually call them back and ask ***!)?

Despite the terminal appearing to be within reasonable walking distance, it's not practical due to no sidewalks and FedEx security fences (I would be glad to walk otherwise!).

Hope this helps ...

Its been a couple years, but I've walked it a few times. No side walks until you get to the parking ramp area, takes about 20 min.

Default It can be done...

I have walked it before.

It takes roughly 15-20 mins and only a small portion of it is without a sidewalk (hard surface for a roller bag). You have to walk away from the passenger terminal within the FedEx parking area at first to be able to circle around the "kitchen" where the aircraft "meals" are prepared,I use the term "meals" loosley for those of you that have traveled by plane in the last decade, I then double back and walk along a short distance (grass path, maybe 200 yards) infront of the "kitchen" toward the IAD terminal parking garages and cut through them into the terminal building.

As Mark says "it's not practical" but it may save you a questionable taxi wait and/or a few bucks by walking. I never have called a taxi there before and only can attest to the two times I have done it, both during the day and with good weather FWIW. The first time I cheated and used my smart phone and google earth to plot my course.

Good Luck!

I was just in IAD last week and used the Washington Flyer Taxi and it works great! If you have a smartphone, they confirm by text, tell you eta and cab number. I was very impressed.
