Default FDX-More lift out of the desert?

Alright guys, new topic.

I've heard about the recent 10 MDs coming out of the desert.

The word this week in Memphis is that there are now 5 Airbi and 5 727s coming back out as well. Verified by multiple standards guys who were in the meeting and saw the slides. Atleast we're not going to be soooo overmanned! (Sarcasm). I can't see this as anything but a good thing.

Wait for it....

Wait for it....

Right.

Does anybody really know what they are doing at this company? I'll be the first to admit that I don't. Is there one thing that hasn't been totally FUBARed? Let's see:

Bid-Cancelled-Excess-Stick/Cancelled
FDA Paris-Cancelled 2x
757 Training snafu
Manning
Bid coming, bid coming...next month, next week, nope
ANC and others training out of seniority
FDA Hong Kong-Boned (them and us working together to get a subpar deal)
Park airplanes-bring them out
Rumor of excess on now two airplanes-no, bring more birds back
4a2b--Here's the middle finger guys, let's talk about coming out of it

This company is totally schizophrenic! I'm hearing the new guy is stunned at what he's seeing out of our flight ops as he reviews the operation. How'd you like that job? Ungooning ourselves, one page at a time.

My new slogan: FedEx--A place you can plan your life around!

OMG - My BFF - YGTBSM - *** - this is GREAT NEWS!

WM - this is all logical, and if you'd paid attention, this is and has been so predictable. You see, we excess, then we park jets, claim we're over manned, play the 4.A.2.b. card, let our competitor follow our lead, then we jump at all their clients that have jumped ship. Freight is now HUGELY up. Jets coming out of Asia are jammed packed full, and we're on the verge of a new MD domicile. We might even try to figure out how to get a domicile opened in the EU (just kidding - that'll never happen). To make that happen, we'd need some of the best, Ivy League educated labor lawyers that have a flippin' clue what's going on. We'd never spring for that level of competence. OH WAIT - we did?

So - we send MD's to HKG/CAN, then back-fill with Boeings and Busses. This really won't be an excess bid at all - but a vacancy bid. In fact, I've also heard that I won't be able to hold HKG anyway - it'll go VERY senior. My other BFF told me that (he's not really a friend). I told him YGTBSM, that he was FOS, but . . . what do I know.

These are such exciting times. I'm so confused. I need another 'O' gram to chew on.

Nakazawa-san, if I had paid attention? I am paying attention and I'm not liking what I see.

I'm just glad I have you to explain it to me...now it's all clear to me.

WM

P.S.--I love you man.

We ALWAYS have vacancy bids in concert with contract negotiations.

That's what the past 2 years have been about. Every facet of FDX Corporation's business decisions are centered around the pilot's contract. C'mon...Everyone knows that!

<Hijack Alert>

Nakazawa-Sama; Try this one on...........show up to ramp at CDG to do paperwork, so far so good. Out to jet, all the big pieces are where they should be, good as well. Capt goes to load the FP and comes to a waypoint that.......doesn't exist. Not in the database, not in the EFB, not on the paper charts. In addition it is the turning point for an airway that......doesn't exist......oh my. Wait, there was a FP/R note about this....nope, mentions the waypoint but not the airway. Ok Call to GOC, (insert mouth breathing knuckle dragging noises as they answer), Hello GOC, we have a non-existent way point to a non-existent airway on our FP Waaaay down range in the middle of Indian Country, wassup wid dat? GOC, "Err, Uhhh, wait one...". We waited ten......."Well Capt, that point and that airway enable on 06 XXX (today is ...OMG 01XXX), and will be out in the next DB update/Revision/Chart issue, but we have been using these for the last 10 days and haven't had a problem......". Capt: "So you want me to use an unofficial waypoint to an airway that doesn't exist yet, which I have no idea if it turns/bends/ curlie Q's, way down range in Indian Country.......How about you re-file me using legal/known/established points /Airways?" GOC: Well that would take over an hour.......big delay....and ...and..... it's really Euro Ops fault....and...and.....we haven't had a problem with this".........Sheesh.......I kept looking for the Clown Car and the Keystone Cops. Be wery wery careful out there boys..............

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.
