UPS Boosts 2010 Forecast

I think that in the middle of a bid it doesn't matter so much.
The carry-in conflicts and the beginning of a new bid period hits them quite a bit harder. That is where reserves are the busiest. I was on the road and my schedule was changed twice. The RO was changed and left out on the road for late arrival pay for two prior trips. This was all in the transition.
Add any out of the norm crisis and staffing is tight also. Put it together with a transition of bid periods and there really is a staffing issue.
We are in the doldrums now.

Who knows, somebody just bought 12 more 777s.
As well there are "3" active 777 sales campaigns going on right now.
If it was FedEx, UPS is going to have a hard explaining to their customers why they can't meet FedEx's service guarantees.
If it was UPS then they not only will not furlough, but will have to start hiring.
If it was a PAX customer - then confidence is returning tot he global market that we have turned a corner and it's time to invest for the next upswing in the cycle.
But what do I know. I'm just a pilot.

Naaah, Brown will wait until all their big customers switch to FDX because of later pickup times before they "splurge" on some 777's. And besides, why buy them now when we can pick them up later at a more expensive price per jet?
