Default FedEx-carryover while in training

If you are bidding pay only for ITU and you get a line with carryover, does it automatically go into your make-up bank. I'm pretty sure you don't get paid extra for the month. I checked section 25 and 11 of the contract and couldn't find it, but I may have missed it in there.

Nope....you don't get paid, and it does not go into your m/u bank. It's credit hours lost and a section of the CBA that we need to revisit.

I bid highest paying line with c/o for Jul and I'm in training and the c/o went into my m/u bank.

Well, it depends. If you bid a line with carryover on the first month of training, meaning you flew a few trips ( or a trip) in the bid line and then went to training, the carryover is protected and will go into makeup. But once you begin training the carryover is not protected and you will see that statement when you bid for pay only. Good luck.

Do you have to worry about carry over hypothetically bumping a trip into the next month when you are in ITU? Since you have no way to View Add that time you would be out potentially a lot of $$. Or do you just get the RLG/BLG for the line you were awarded no matter what.

My block display has my current month carrying over 6 days; do I need to try and bid a line that starts on the 7th day of the next month to keep my BLG even though I'm in ITU?

Thanks,

To make the most money you should bid highest paying line without carryover. Look at your pay summary and see what you are really getting paid. Carryover is not protected (paid) while in training and does not get added to the makeup bank, so it gets lost.

Last month of training be sure to protect min days off, or they will work you to death.

That's not completely correct. Don't use the VIPS code for highest paying line w/o carryover. If you get a line with carryover, only the carryover portion is not paid. You still get paid the full amount of the bid month guarantee. You need to sort through each line and look at the bid month guarantee and bid them in that order. Just disregard the carryover portion. If you bid the VIPS code for hi w/o c/o you limit your lines to only non carryover lines and wouldn't be able to get any higher paying lines with carryover.
If you are real junior in your seat, bid all lines in descending above BLG. Then bid any VTO, because you get average BLG if you get a VTO while in training. Then bid all lines paying more than RLG in descending order. Then, any reserve line, then lines paying less than RLG.

Once again, if you bid highest paying line w/o carryover, you could end up with something less than average BLG or RLG.
