UPS A Plea for Civility

Just a comment on the current times. Times that have the world going Jihad and burning the books of one another, times that are clearly a tipping point in the world and our country.

First, stay safe and stay focused on the flight or the drive home. Either one will let a moments inattention ruin your life.

Second, respect your peers. Young or old, we are all on the same road. Don't think that slagging your brother is going to improve your lot.

Lastly, we all make mistakes. Management, Union, individual. None are immune to error. Try to stay calm, work together and resolve your differences. Be slow to anger and understand that much of what is happening is beyond your control.

How can you be civil to someone that treats any fellow employee like this?

They do this because we allow them to.

Have you ever thought that they are just as scared as you are?

Our actions and their actions are limited by a contract we both signed, think about what you sign.

Like any war, there are always atrocities on both sides. Always.

I agree with JUP. Its hard to be civil when you and your parents are threatened and some crazy person advocates the vadalization of personal property. There's no reason we cannot have a civil disussion.

I for one will hence forth refrain from uncivil activity.
