One thing to add: The two B-777s we got from Air France only have 2 jumpseats available. The Oxygen system for the 4 forward facing jumpseats are the "dixie cup" style. So, for takeoff and landing all bodies need to be in the "cockpit". That means 4 total people allowed on those 777s.

My first thought was 'par for the course with Boeing'. No two airplanes can ever be exactly a like. Forrest Gump would love them.:)

Not par for the course from Boeing, but par for the course for Fedex.

How long did it take them to get different configurations on a brand-new aircraft? Yeah, jumpseat on a 777 - just standby to see which tail number is going. Hope you make it to HKG in time for your trip!

Par for the course for both. No two Boeings are exactly alike from the cockpit panel configs to the seat positions. While other manufacturers have their differences as well, in my experience they haven't been nearly as varied. Now FDX certainly doesn't do much to help out in that area overall, but the 757 cockpit is at least a decent nod in that direction even if there are variances there from what I hear.
