The hotel will give you a map that lists the places in the porta fino area. about a 10-15 min walk. Right out of hotel, left before the wally world looking place. Several blocks, you'll take a left where the apartments end and some small shops appear, upscale looking by china standards. about 100 yards you'll see the gated area, go left there. Pizzaria place, restrauntier knows plenty of fedex guys, good service. Nicer white linen tablecloth place, good food & wine there, reasonable prices for finer dining. You may have to ask for english menu. Always enjoyed the food & wine there.

Hey Walrus,
Shekou is a great place when staying at the Crowne in Shenzhen. Great Expat place. Also, right across the street from the hotel is a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. Great food, very cheap! Lunch for about 10 RMB ($2.00 USD).
