FedEx or UPS jumpseat?
Hey I need some help from any of you cargo guys on how to get from MSY on the night of the 24th to SLC. I've never done the cargo jumpseat drill to move around at night and don't even know how to check schedules for FedEx or UPS to see if I can even make that trip home. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |
Assuming you are a pilot with a CASS carrier?
You might be able to j/s on FedEx tomorrow. I say "might" because the MEM - SLC leg is showing "0" jumpseats available (maybe full already? maybe a crew rest MD-11 with no jumpseats in the back?) MSY - MEM 7am check-in time / 9:20am arrival MEM - SLC 240pm check in time / 6:01pm arrival Call our jumpseat reservation number at 1 800-544-9040. They'll fill you in on the details ... Merry Xmas |
RockyBoy,
Unfortunately, UPS has nothing the night of the 24th. For a look of UPS schedules, click here: The Independent Pilots Association All times listed are UTC, shown as 'Z' time. If in the future you find a flight(s) you want, call 1800-228-2739 (800-Bat-Crew) Option 4, then Option 1 to list. |
Hey thanks for the info guys...Unfortunatley there are no flights out of MSY that night that will work. I'll keep those numbers in the phone for future reference.

Does UPS require a reciprocal js agreement, or just that you're in CASS?

Some time ago (maybe 18 - 24 months?), I emailed the then NWA jumpseat coordinator to ask if I could jumpseat on an international NWA flight. IIRC, he replied that a CASS carrier pilot COULD jumpseat on any NW flight but for intl there needed to be an available seat in the cabin ... (I have no idea about the now merged DAL policies?). |
