1-800-all-atps? Fex

Found this on another board and thought it was important.

Their database does not have all the questions that are or can be on the test. Additionally, even if you answer a question correctly, you may get marked wrong as I did. This was explained to me at the beginning and they said they just run the software.

The 295.00$ price is way overpriced for what you get.

Get the book, study the questions and answers and then go take the test.

I got a 94% but should have a 100%.

They say "Too bad".

Second bad experience with ALL ATPS.

The folks over at Sheppardair.com were excellent. I used them for the ATP and FEX. 24/7 support and their database was spot on!

JDriver is right on the money, Sheppardair.com is the only way to go for written preps. I did use allATPs for my ATP rides, pretty straight forward process. FWIW I used the allATP location in Jasper, AL(Walker County). Not sure if Gordo is still doing the ATP thing or not but you can't go wrong with Sanders Aviation if he is.

Have never heard a bad thing about Sheppardair. He was a Tweet instructor while I was at UPT. Stand up guy...truly loves GA and helping people. Altough I would have a hard time asking for my money back, I think he offers a money back guarantee if you score less than 90%!

Is any place "guaranteeing" a 100? If not, it sounds like this person being overly critical for no reason. Next time study the book for a few weeks and let us know how it goes :)

I had a good experience myself recently at ATP in Phoenix/IWA. From what I understand, there are usually a couple of questions that change slightly from time to time, and they supposedly update the bank frequently. I saw perhaps 2 questions that were not on the prep, but were either common sense or a little different than the prep. I also had a friend get a 100 there with no pre-study and a few hours with the software. Seriously, the fact that you can study for only a few hours, take a test for 30 minutes, and walk out with a high 90 was good enough for me.

Two words: Sheppard Air/. All questions and 95% after 2 days of prep AT HOME...

so you spent 3 days on this?

I give All ATPs a big thumbs down on test prep.
Back in '94 when I did the F/E written for the first time I decided to use their study course. I believe it was $295. I showed up for the course, they threw me the Gliem prep book and said comeback in 2 days. That was the prep course and a huge waste of money.

1994? What were they using back then, Apple IIe?
I did mine with All ATP 6 years ago and made a 99. I'm taking it again tomorrow at the Houston location. I'll update tomorrow night.

I had never heard of Sheppard Air till I saw it mentioned here on APC. I wish had know about them when I took the FEX a 4+ years ago; got a 85% back then, using some other web based software.
I downloaded the Mac software back when the first announcement came about the FDX window opening up, and over the following 4 days or so, studied it off and on. Got a 98% using their software! I only saw two questions that weren't on their prep but those were most likely the new FAA questions that don't count towards, or more important!, against you.
So...I'd certainly go with Sheppard Air, if I had to do it again, which I hope I won't. It is $75 (twice as much as some others online) but smaller question bank to study and one doesn't have to be online to use it. Great stuff!
