Why I am voting YES on TA

I'll bet my 3% that this "airbusdryver" is
A. Over 60
B. Management
C. On Crack
D. All the Above
Guys there will not be a single crewmember over 60 that is going to vote No. They want to keep their happy little boat from rocking and get their 3%, cause we know they care nothing about the FDA section. Actually heard a ND, talking about his whole 1% retro like he was hitting the lottery. FDX, the company of "4800 i-got-mine" pilots.

I am glad that you are in the NO vote column as am I. I do however really wonder why a Captain that is going to retire in the next couple of years would vote NO.
No flame intended, it just seems like basic economics to me.

I would guess that the last thing the company wants to do is show it's cards on retirement. If the retirement changes they plan were on the table there would be zero chance of the T/A being approved. Just saving the bad news until after the good news 3% pay increase.

I don't like the fact that retirement was not addressed. The 260k cap on earnings towards retirement has not changed since the original FPA contract in 1999. If you use a CPI calculator that number comes to 340k in 2010.

I agree the company wants to hit our retirement but am puzzled why you want to vote NO on what is being offered. You just said yourself they don't want to show their hand on retirement right now. That's fine by me.
