Allowing our people over 60 into the engineers seat has cost many of us dearly in the long run. Guess who pushed that?

Can't argue with this post. Whatever happens, UPS will find some loophole to screw us with anything. If the managers can't fly, I wouldn't put it past them to hire 200 VPs of Flight Ops to fly or something like that. They will try to get around anything.

Someone said something about take no prisoners if FQS effort fails.

I think the general consensus is if the card drive fails tomorrow we are going after the jobs and not the bodies. I think one way or another we are getting the jobs but thats just my take on this.

aflouisville 03-10-2011 07:28 AM

You could be right. Just don't punish those who sent cards. They are the good guys

It is not the IPA that will punish anybody ... ;)

Most are good guys, but again I think, people are fed up with the fact that we in the IPA have extended out our hand for a year. 50 +1 of them can't see that we are working in everyones best interest by trying to make this a better place to work. These artificial walls that the UPS culture has arbitrarily put in place between the two pilot groups need to be brought down one way or another.

A vast majority of us voted to integrate and put this issue behind us once and for all. If the FQS work force can't see that the IPA has worked in good faith to try to bring safety, job protection, quality of life and everything else union protection affords to a line worker, which they all are, then its time to move on. We can only lead horse to water, we can't make them drink.

If this effort fails tomorrow, then let the pieces fall where they will, but nobody should place on the blame on the IPA for lack of effort. And for what its worth, IPA won't punish anyone, that my friend is left for this company to do.

Oh did they master Yoda? Who said that? Someone on an anonymous Internet message board.

I'm actually in the IPA, and nobody said anything like that.

Another Jedi mind trick master Yoda?

So tell me, how is anyone going to be punished since the names of those who sent a card will never be revealed? Put a sock in it Bob. Nobody is buying your retired manager down in Florida bit. You really need to get a life!

aflouisville 03-10-2011 09:28 AM

Bob is the incorrect moniker. Sorry

Zoso 03-10-2011 09:34 AM

Whatever Bob!

aflouisville 03-10-2011 02:05 PM

Zoso:

I really like you!!

Bob

Zoso 03-10-2011 02:28 PM

Good. Maybe you can stop pretending. You know who I am and I know who you are. You made an error when you posted a few months back and gave yourself away.

Let it go.

Real families are being deeply affected by these events. I have close friends who are living through very difficult circumstances.

I also have friends on the management side who are genuine and good people. I know they are affected in a negative way also. Even though I am IPA, I completely disagree with the 'moron' comments regarding the FQSs earlier in this thread. They are not. And in fact some of them are the sharpest I've seen. And I like them as people.

Stop stirring the pot. You're not helping. You don't have inside info.

Let it be.

Section Eight 03-10-2011 02:56 PM

So now that the your guys are all made up riddle me this. What is plan B or Plan C if this falls on its face tomorrow?

What if the number is 35%? Now we have to petition the NMB? What if its 50% +1 what happens to the other 49%?

Somebody with more brain cells than me please explain the process and how this is going to unfold.

I called it a LONG time ago that they would hire more of these guys, and they are. (and if you think they aren't, your drinking the kool-aid again, these guys are going to show up in a simulator near you VERY soon)

What prevents them from hiring 200 more if we get 35% or 50%? I will be the first to claim ignorance of labor laws. I would really like to know how this may fall in months or days to come.

aflouisville 03-10-2011 03:00 PM

Zoos

I really am no one but who I say I am. Honest. Bob is someone else

Agoutis ills

aflouisville 03-10-2011 03:01 PM

Sorry for misspellings

Shaggy1970 03-11-2011 06:56 AM

So is the cutoff at COB today? To all FQS, there is still time to FedEx your cards into the union! LMAO

EV120 03-12-2011 09:31 AM

Any news yet? Surprised it's quiet.

Waborita 03-12-2011 10:30 AM

From Friday March 4th's IPNN

The FQS have been given a deadline of next Friday, March 11th, to submit cards.
If we receive a few more cards but are still two or three cards short of our goal, we may continue the effort for a few more weeks. If we are still five or six cards short on Monday, March 14, the EB will make a decision on other options.

Talked to TK the other nite...we lack 5 cards but some are supposedly "in the mail" as we speak. He speaks of a lot of phone conversations with the IPA over the past few weeks. My guess is we will hear an update on monday on whether they will extend for a few more days.

Pilot7576

FR8TFLYER 03-12-2011 12:51 PM

TK and the rest of the EB need to let go of this. They look desperate, I hope they don't get the cards and every FQS gets fired, they drank the Kook-Aid and deserve what they get from Big Brown. Why beg them to come over to the IPA, we don't need them. Hire a more deserving qualified pilot off the street.

Section Eight 03-12-2011 12:53 PM

They will extend it, and it will drag on and on and on. Like counting to your child and using fractions as you get closer to the number three.

2, 2-1/2, 2-3/4, 2-7/8, 2-15/16......

I, for one, will cut the EB some slack as they conclude this drive. Contrary to a lot of postings, a "class and craft" ruling is not a slam dunk...if it were, THAT would be Plan A and the accretion process would be another plan. As much as I will hate flying with some of these pogues over my remaining years, it is far better to have them on our list than to simply "wish" them away with an uncertain NPRM ruling. In any case, I don't believe a contract will be ratified that has MEF as the status quo.

Translation: The recruitment drive has failed. We knew they were never all going to come over, but none came over or at least not enough to matter. We still believe that a unicorn may be within lasso range any time now.

And the MEF injunction will happen the first hour of flying they do with anyone on the street.

They will never furlough, your fine

if they do furlough...

They will only furlough enough to get the RIF

It wont last any longer than six months

The system is at its breaking point (good one)

You will be recalled the first week in December. (a really good one)

or, my favorite.....

"We cant talk about it, but we have a plan....."

Did I miss any?

More nonsense from jungle! Fantastic!

Jungle, are you a member of any IPA committees or do you volunteer any time for the IPA?

Yeah, that's what I thought

aflouisville 03-13-2011 03:02 AM

FQS effort might still be be successful. Stay tuned to this station for further updates.

aflouisville 03-13-2011 02:06 PM

Maybe next week for success. Standby

aflouisville 03-14-2011 03:20 PM

It seems the card effort succeeded

Confirmed or rumor??? You're normally spot on.

aflouisville 03-14-2011 09:26 PM

Wait and see. You will know more soon

aflouisville 03-15-2011 05:15 AM

Has anyone heard anything?

b2pilot186 03-15-2011 05:28 AM

Should we have?

aflouisville 03-15-2011 06:37 AM

Yes.....The accretion effort was successful. UPS has been informed.

Tyman 03-15-2011 06:49 AM

I hope you're right.

aflouisville 03-15-2011 06:52 AM

I am. Haven't I always been right?

Tyman 03-15-2011 06:56 AM

Usually. That said, what's next Oh Wise One in your opinion.

Crickets. Hope you're right, alf.

Tyman 03-15-2011 06:59 AM

Supposedly the IPA and OOPS were scheduled to meet today to discuss a "variety" of issues. Maybe BT will put out a Utube video today and clue us in.
