Thanks for the reply. That looks like 25% of your pilots are on the hidden b-scale then ;) Southwest 737 pilots make more per hour; has anyone else noticed?

I wouldn't trade my job flying heavies all over the world for a lifelong 737 job working my tail off, no matter what somebody paid me. Not dissing SWA, just talking about reality. |

Most FedEx NB crewmembers are relying on the rig. I believe they would be able to negotiate a higher rate if they flew more freight (hours) per day. Before you get all uptight about cargo making more money---Sure it does...Um...maybe. Cargo World states international pax generate twice the revenue per pound than international cargo does. I know the planes can hold more weight in cargo per cubic foot than passengers, but you get the idea. It's not an incredible difference. FedEx is getting to be more and more UPS like with domestic freight. More is going by ground this year than last year (marginally). It boils down to how much revenue do you generate when "on the clock". If you make enough your pay can go up. So if you like all the dead time during hub turns or deadheading, be happy with the lower pay scale. Not a bad thing at all. Maybe FedEx ALPA was crazy like a fox for not asking for higher narrowbody payrates. |

Yea, try to find their Bfund, Afund, ability to upgrade to a higher paying position. But you are right our pay should be better than we are going to get. |
"Yea, try to find their Bfund, Afund,"
I think my A fund retirement of $130,000 per year is worth giving up 50 cents or so per hour. |
