The FedEx rep at the job fair yesterday said 500 newhires, THIS YEAR.

Is FedEx capable of pumping out 500 newhires between now and the end of the year?

Doesn't seam like that many calls are going out yet. Maybe they are. It's a much more automated process now than in the past it appears.

The newhires in basic indoc were told 20/month through the end of the year. That hiring will continue into 2012 (which I think is where the 500 number is coming from). Still, its great news!

BI classes are sched in MyMint-resources sched on left-click show resources-scroll down to AOTC room 2D-click on it and it should show BI.

Yes, the numbers are actually higher than 500. It's more like 600 because what they meant was approximately 90 internal hires and pools and new hires this fiscal year and 500 hires from May 2011 until May 2012. More after that I am told....this just covers retirements and some 777's. If the NPRM passes....flood gates will open.

Yes, we are able to train that many. It's just we'll be hiring into the right seat of everything except the 777. Some folks will still get 727 SO for a while too.

Okay, I am getting private messages now. Let me clarify. Yes, hiring into all seats except the 777. They CAN hire into the 777 off the street but they have said that, and common sense dictates, that they will not because of seniority and number of airplanes on the property.

Just a clarification.
