Fedex TA will not match UPS 'TILL JAN08

The Fedex TA will not match UPS CONTRACT until January 2008.

The UPS Payscales are higher than Fedex TA until Jan08, even more, UPS is already using a trip rig 3.75 to 1, this makes their monthly bid Guaranty of 75 hard hours, paid 13 times a year....rather than Fedex average of 8 months of 70 and 4 months of 90.Fedex gets paid only 12 times a year.

Do the math (75*13) UPS 975 hours a year VS (8*70+4*90) 920 hours a year for Fedex. So UPS MIN PAY is higher by 55 hours a year. This is off course, minimun pay.

Our Vacation Pay/Policy is probably worth $20-25 an hour compared to others.

With all due respect,I would. I think we should vote down this contract.

Agency shop, but nonmember are grandfather. Industry standard, but until Jan 2008. 1 % b fund vs 12 UPS.

I wonder, what was the cost of a close end Agency shop clause in our contract, only to grandfather non-members.

again..get a clue..go talk to ups guys and see what work rules and vacation they would rather work under... www.ipaontop.org go away!

I'm concerned about is how our quality of life is supposed to improve in terms of scheduling - or lack of real noticable improvements.

Uh, the cost was probably avoiding costly law suits for violating federal law??

36 days vacation @ 6:00 per day=216 hours X $224 hr.=$48,384
36 days vacation @ 3:00 per day=108 hours X $224 hr.=$24,192

Difference in Vacation pay $24,192

Pay per year 1,000 hours=$24.19 value per hour
