Default Capital Cargo International

Anyone got info and/or fly for them? Just wondering if they are doing good, bad, or otherwise and if hiring can be expected anytime soon?

QOL, pay, trips, etc etc also welcome!

Lets see pay suck, equipment sucks, the rumor is the FAA may be giving them major fines. Other than that they may be hiring soon! Furloughed ABX Air pilots have first right of recall. But they're mostly going to ATI and back to ABX. They will probably get 767's soon from CAM.

When can this be expected? They had a 767 a few years ago but it went straight to ATI, then ABX traded for it so they could set up ETOPS. N315AA, IIRC.

And... they are all flying DHL stuff that was supposed to be protected under Astar's (DHL Airways) 'best in the industry' SCOPE clause.

Stay away from anything that DHL touches. They are a crap company (DHL, that is) and will always be that way.

Trust me!!

Ask any DHL contractor how well things went.

sidenote: the scope was "airtight"

If you are flying for any company that has one primary customer, your career has a single point of failure. Not good in the world of aviation whether referring to aircraft systems or job security. No matter what your seniority, you would be wise to explore the growing list of opportunities in the airline industry whenever your airline's future hinges on a single client.

ESPECIALLY DHL.

So your saying that Capitol is flying DHL freight for less than what
DHL was paying their own pilots?
If this is the case what does the Capitol cargo union say about this?

Yes that is correct. Look at the pay scales.

I am sure the union says what unions always say, 'we will look into it, it is not struck work........ the company promised us that if we do this they will .... pay more later, get new planes, hire more pilots! (take your pick)'

Nothing against the Cappy pilots, we are all just suckers and our own worst enemies!

I can't believe we all just fall for the same standard plays out of the Lorenzo mgt handbook. Spin the company off, cut pay, divide the pilot group, entice other pilots with promise of great things to come.... repeat at new company, collect giant mgt retention bonus.

Scope clause, union v union, RJs, mainline, B-scale, snapbacks, bankruptcy, union rules relaxed to faa mins, spin-offs, code share, foreign ownership...... all strategies in the Management Playbook. Think about it!!

Sorry to vent and no harm meant to any pilot.....

(sorry for the spelling, I was on a roll!)

"Our own worst enemies"... that just about sums up this entire messed up
industry.
The sad part is, just when you think it can't get any worse, pay for
training comes along.
