UPS Nepotism

Is there any chance that UPS will relax or get rid of their current nepotism rules in the near future?

Why are they the last to hang on to this, and how does it benefit the company?

If these tools have their way, they won't hire again for 5 more years. When they do hire again, they have no reason to get rid of the nepotism rule. Everyone will want to get hired at the last job you'll ever have!

All you have to do is look at old-school management practices, e.g., those that were popular in the 1950's, to get your answer. That would correlate to roughly the last time that UPS updated their management practices.

Time-management (taken to extremes), anti-neptism, management through intimidation, promotion exclusively from within (even when better talent from the outside can be had), abhorrence of "new" ideas, etc...

Rumor has it that in a couple of decades they will be updating to 1980's style management, but nobody here is holding their breath.

Why, you wanting to throw boxes over peak this year? Cause I don't see them hiring pilots any time soon.

There is famous saying here at ups.

I work here so my love ones don't have to and if that means anything to you then stay away and apply across the state where they value thier employees as an asset rather then ASS it.

UPS would counter that they are hiring 6 in December and 8 in January.

Yes, they probably would. The word that comes to mind is disingenuous, but dishonest would apply equally as well. Kind of like Washington DC, where "cutting spending" equals "reducing the rate of increased spending".
