Default FDX - Next Bid

Heard due to many unscheduled retirements in past 3 months we would have a bid soon. Any others hearing this?

I'd imagine because they're "pullin' chalks" prior to the age 65 limit? Just my guess.

I am pretty sure they like to close any new bids in late Apr early May to have the maximum summer vacation disruption attainable.

During a Line Check this week, the LCA said that a well known 777 LCA said that 33% of the 777 Capt's retired in December ... is that possible?

Possible? Sure. Likely? No way. Feb bid back would answer that question.
Rumors are fun, but actual numbers of guys bailing is probably exaggerated by wishful thinking and bad info. Hate to be Debbie Downer but I think the bus talk, while having some truth, seems to be getting ahead of itself. Maybe DLAX or some other bid back Ninja can do a scrub and share the real numbers with us...

BM made a point in his FCIF to try to improve comm and reduce message boards as a source of info. Prolly too soon to turn the lights on in the mushroom garden but it might be nice to see the official retirement summary published monthly, of only as a candle of hope in an often dark room the last few years. Perhaps the new seniority calculator at the FDX MEC site might also telegraph the real numbers. All I know is the migration of INTL trips to the 777 have meant less and less and I cannot hold a regular intl line at 50% in my seat, when I could hold some trash at 70% when I activated.

We are one burning supertanker from everything being very, very different anyway. Hoping we continue to find silver linings and things continue to improve...
