Real case. The company cuts you off, unless you married a FA. I can't think of a scenario that can make it any more clear that the company is discriminating based on marital status. I mean, it's not like the pilot wasn't traveling while off duty to see the fiance/e before the wedding. And it's not like all married couples live together full time, especially those who are older or without children. The only thing that's changed is a piece of paper that has nothing to do with the pilot's cockpit performance.

So how long did it take for his wife to move over to HKG?

I don't agree with the plan to make us sign an unreasonably restrictive agreement to obtain the allowance. We should not have to do that. But we did negotiate and vote for it. Wish we had the stones to recall those responsible but it's firmly in the past. They're no longer in office...

Is this part a joke? We just signed the latest FDA-LOA with the "restrictive agreement" in it, a little over a year ago, after 68% of you voted for it.

Those responsible are still in office. Those that were against it have been recalled!!

How do you justify voting for it? The 3%/yr you got?:mad:

Hey GUNTER - why don't you go "hold their feet to the fire" over this!

This was voted on and put in place by 68%. Some of us saw the injustice and voted against it. Some of you just saw $$$$ last time around!

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

As you pointed out we can't force them to float something reasonable across the table because they know something else will be approved.

All we can can absolutely control is our individual actions. Perhaps you see where our real leverage lies. Not just when YOU feel it but when a majority of us feel it.

Are you ready to move on to the next round or will you just keep thinking about the last one?

Fight the next round and remember the last round. Of course if you already threw in the towel in the last round, not sure if there is much point in fighting the next round.

Has "12 angry men" turned into "12 old, tired and beaten men"?

I generally have a lot respect for your comments. But you have this somewhat backwards.

The guys who took the company's openers for HKG/CDG are not the same who helped improve it into what we have for HKG/CGN now.

BC supported CB during the recall bruhaha. Both those guys DIDN'T want the FDA packages to improve at all until their personal agendas were taken care of. Some may argue that. Why is there argument about that? Because CB and TH didn't want to reveal the specifics of their strategic game plan, and what they didn't want, for the membership. They are highly skilled at throwing spears but deficient in telling us what they really stand for. I think that's because they know they have some potentially unpopular goals. But, in their defense, every politician tries to manage the message. In this case they miscalculated by going too light on the strategic vision thing.

Now that we have a substandard expat package it's going to take a lot to make it right. Many of us think that is ok because they don't want any capital spent on the FDA guys. HKG and CGN will be our junior bidpacks. Everyone knew that despite the, "You're too junior to bid it." disinformation campaign.

Managing the message also ceases to work when you tell bald-face lies.

Dont look at me I was never angry. But if it wasnt a good deal why did 90+% of the MEC and 65+% of the membership vote yes. Tired and beaten, I think not. I am in a good place to get mine for the next 4 or 5 years while we wait for a contract. And after all get mine is the ALPA motto.

I see where pilot#4 is back on the line. Must have been quite a non-disclosure agreement...
