Default FDX--Bid...where did it go?

So, we've all been waiting for some bid to come out in the Mar/Apr timeframe and so far, it's been crickets. All news generally comes out of Mempho on Fridays at 5:00 PM, so I understand that we have one more Friday to go and I might be slightly early.

Let's say for argument's sake that the company can run phantom practice bids whenever they want based on standing bids. They probably do this all the time. What happens if they see a trend they don't like? What if, for instance, anyone who wants to bid out of HKG and can, changes their standing bid? IE--the phantom practice doesn't look as good as the company would like. What if the same thing was happening in CGN? How about new hire captains in the FDAs?

If you were a bean counter, would you run the official bid anyway? Would you hastily dispatch a contingent of management over to HKG quickly to assess the mood which must be insufferable since some of their guys have recently been sent home (fired)?

Anyone care to comment on this? Best guess on the Mar/Apr bid? Jul/Aug and a lot of talk between the negotiating committee and management on perhaps some enhancement in an FDA LOA and an immediate return of those let go.

Discuss...

A rough guess on the end of the current training letters:

30 07 May
27 21 May
57 02 July
777 25 July
11 20 August

Except for the bus and the 27, They could delay the bid into June......

Sure. But we've also had training letters that expired and allowed the schoolhouse to go cold for a bit. I think it could be a little bit of a sit...but I hope I'm wrong.

Reminds me of the Mother of All Bids of 2007 or so. Aren't we still waiting on that one?

I wish I could see what is being said/going on in HKG........is it grovelling and begging?.....Is it bribery and promises? or is it coercion and intimidation? Inquiring minds........

What do they care. All they have to do is cancel the bid if they dont like the results.

Default No vacancy bid required to leave HKG FDA

Paragraph N of FDA Loa. FDA Exit in Lieu of Normal System Bid Award.

1. The pilot shall notify his Chief Pilot in writing of the election under this paragraph, which shall include:
a. The selection by the pilot of a non-FDA crew position that a junior pilot is activated in and currently holds; and
b. The pilot’s preferred exit date (i.e., the date upon which the pilot starts ITU training or when the pilot base transfers), which shall not be less than 6 months from the date of the notice. The preferred exit date must be after the completion of the pilot’s commitment period, plus 12 months.

I'm wondering how many are considering leaving the FDAs if the bed checks continue....the company can only delay the pilot's move a max of 180 days if it can't fill the vacancy. (para N.4.b.). Many of the currently assigned pilots should be coming to the end of their original commitment period.
