ATI CCIA merger
 

ALPA is pushing for the pilots at ATI and CCIA to approve the steps necessary to merge the pilot groups. So far, they have used intimidation and lies. They told the ATI pilots we will not get a government contract if they don't merge. That was not true.

Now there is a real possibility that the process is being manipulated by management to save money at the expense of ATI pilots. ATI is in the process of furloughing another 17 pilots that will bring the total to about 50. All of the pilots furloughed from ATI are at the top of the FO pay scale. They will be joining CCIA pilots in the furlough who have higher seniority numbers but will be much lower on the pay scale. After the seniority lists are merged, management will be able to recall CCIA pilots first and pay them less. If this is being done intentionally, it is very unfair to the ATI pilots. Why is Capital is recalling now?

The ATI pilot group is bing asked to approve a joint CBA. The merger will probably happen whether the ATI pilot groups ratifies it or not. The only difference is the amount of time it will take. ATI is currently operating below capacity. They must be trying hard to change that situation. The ALPA MEC recently reported that a new large contract is in the works. New work will mean more workers. The timing of events can make a huge difference for the furloughed ATI pilots. Managements wants to rush this through so that they can recall cheaper labor when the new work comes in. Why should the pilot group help willingly support this manipulation? ALPA will tell you that you must vote yes because if you don't you will lose control and it will be determined by an arbitrator. OK. There's already a TA in place. What do you think the arbitrator will do? It won't make any difference. If the ATI pilot group refuses to ratify this contract, the process will take longer.

ATI needs to vote this thing down! Management is using this merger to manipulate the seniority system to save money at the expense of ATI pilots! We shold not be helping them.

CCIA Is adding planes that's why we are recalling, didn't ATI just lose the LAN flying ? The rest of your post makes no sense please don't drink and post.

Possible extension for the 300 contract. Saw this coming a mile away with LAN and TAM Merger plus LAN's 777's coming online.

Things get a little messy when ATI management is essentially CCIA management. Those left at ATI are pretty much just along for the ride now.

Not sure why you even posted on this board, most of this is already being addressed in our own internal site.

ATI is currently operating below capacity.
I know of few DC8 pilots who only flew maybe once or twice while I was there in my three months.

One of the issues I think too is that the 767 was and is the junior aircraft. Nothing can be done if people don't want to change over I guess.

The company went too far and got greedy. They just had to try to manipulate the process.

I want to see my Cappy brothers get their raise but not like this.

ATI must vote this down. Make them do it by force. It won't turn out any different. Don't just roll over on our own guys.
