They were just on the orange site hiring for an ATR FO out of Rapid City. I interviewed and was offered the job 6 months ago but I did not take it because I was offered my current job at the same time. That being said it seemed like a great place to work, especially if you can live in base.

There is a reason nobody who actually works at Empire has replied here...do your homework. Besides this entire thread smells fishy.

I am ex empire, worked there for almost a year and still currently pay them money every month for the training contract.

DO NOT WORK FOR EMPIRE HAVE YOU SEEN THE PAY SCALE?

there are other threads out there but its really not a good place to work, not for time building and they will change your days off at will.

well atr42flyer I am going to start ground school here soon but my goal is not to build total flight time I have enough for what I need to move on, I just want to buil 121 PIC time and the money is equivalent of what I am making now, I know This is not Probalbly the best place to stay for long term but they are very nice poeple and looks like they have a good opperation.

Beside all that from your experience here what do you really like about this comapany when you were hire by them.

and can you explain They will change my days off.

Ex-Empire ATR here: Very nice people. Yes, it's low pay and it doesn't increase appreciably over time as it should. Maybe it works for a small base like Idaho Falls, but not so much, for example, in Seattle. Commuting to most bases isn't particularly viable since you are there for 5 days at a stretch. They never really changed my days off, but some things can seem a little capricious - until you read the employee guide carefully. Usually there is an exception in there that's left to the company to interpret. Aside from the pay, there are many more positives there than negatives.

did you get hired as a captain? which is another bs thing they do higher street captains!

you said you had all the time you need then then said you want to build some 121 pic time. which one is it? you will fly 1.5 hours (maybe) per day if your in one of the longer routes like seattle which they closed by the way. not even sure of the longer routes they have nowadays. but think how long you will have to work there to get 1000tpic at 1.5 hours per day that you work.

then when you realize what a crappy decision you made by working for them and want to quit prior to your year is up or year and half cant remember which you will be paying on a employment contract like me!

good luck. say high to DP and SM for me! tell Belinda to suck it.

I'd be very careful about jobs like this one. The reason they get dime a dozen pilots is there are many guys willing to take it. and so they take advantage of you. My advise would be do it only if you are desperate and give yourself a 18 month goal. Any more than that, you'll be wasting your life away. Copy?
