Default FDX- Deviating into FRA and need GT

Does anyone know if Manfred will pick you up at a different time if you are deviating into FRA and headed to Mainz and how is the best way to set it up. If not, what is the best way to get to the hotel. Thanks!! It's been awhile since I've gotten to FRA.

I haven't been to FRA recently. Manfred (and later Ben) used to the the VERY BEST at handling deviation transportation. His old email was [email protected] (and maybe [email protected]?)

My only minor complaint about Manfred is that he had very bad email skills (I never knew if he received my email?) but he was ALWAYS there waiting for me. I once asked him why he didn't reply and he said he thought his english skills weren't very good. I asked him to please email, "OK, I'll be there."

Please let us know how it turns out for future reference

Manfred's English skills are better than yours.

It's been about a year, but I deviated and emailed Manfred. No response. I then used his cell number in the hotel directory and called him via Skype. He had received the email but as stated above, wasn't big on his skills. He confirmed the pick up over the phone. Cost me about 15 cents on Skype. Was waiting when I walked out.

When all else fails, go downstairs to the airport train station and buy a ticket to Mainz HBF (30 min ride and ~5Euros). Had to do this when Manfred got stuck in a big traffic jam.

There are two train stops in Mainz, both are walking distance to the hotel. One is near Rosie's, the other (main train station I think?) is slightly closer to the hotel. I've never done the train but numerous people say it's easy.

An issue with Manfred is that he doesn't do credit cards. The work around for that is when he drops you at the hotel, get the front desk to pay him and then put it on your room charge. When you settle up, the hotel receipt will have your charge listed as transportation and you can expense it as normal.
