FDX - ASAP reports & Internet Explorer
Had a problem trying to start a new ASAP report on the FPC/Safety website using Internet Explorer. Google Chrome worked fine. Then received word from the IT folks that I needed to add *.fedex.com to my list of Trusted Sites (Tools, Internet Options, Security, Trusted Sites). Uncheck "Require server verification," then click Add.
I hope you never need to file a report, but odds are decent that you will get that opportunity sometime during your career. And I have heard nothing but positive feedback about filing ASAPs. If you have even a little little doubt, file a report--this is a good thing for us mortal pilots.
And BTW, our dispatchers and other specialities (mechanics possibly?) out there have their own specific safety reporting channels that may prompt you (as the affected aircrew) to file an ASAP. That was what generated a notification phone call to me --the Captain & I had no clue anything had happened on our flight until the voice on the other end "strongly recommended" we file an ASAP. The final outcome was positive and a non-event, but it still got my undivided attention until it was resolved.
