new hire F/Es

Now that the company is allowing all probationary crewmembers to bid on this vacancy will we have any under age 60 F/Es after 1 Dec? Sounds like we'll be hiring many F/Es and F/Os for some time to come, especially if the Age 60 dies...

Precontact,
Yes. A bunch of of the 60+ folks are pulling the plug at the end of January and will be short of S/O's causing newhires to be sent to DC-8 etc.
Likely will continue. Age 60 question may change a whole lot though. UPS lives day to day on these decisions (At least my perception after talking with the Training Schedulers for awhile now)

And no connections to boot?

After reading my post, I think I may know what the answer is.. ;)

When it comes to interview/getting a job at UPS advice, I pretty much agree with all of 1800 RVR's posts.

What exactly is causing the age 60+ folks to pull the plug? Does it have something to do with the new contract?

YES! you can say that.

Curiosity is a good thing. And, if you're not JM, curiosity is also a fun thing. ;)

I think you have been flying a bit too high if you know what I mean;)

Yes. I know exactly what you mean. I should take it down. No problem. Consider it done, dude. -- At least we are talking now, right? Grateful to this discussion board for making it possible. Happy Thanksgiving, JM! :D

Barrel rolls around the space shuttle, baby! Oh, yeah.

You're so right, though. In order to really give your remarks the kind of careful attention they deserve, I mean -- in order to really discuss this properly and to help as many people as possible, meet me at the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on top of the Kaden Tower!:D
