Quote: My guess would be UPS overpays for the oldest and least reliable aircraft on the market.
Nah, they'll want the biggest and the CHEAPEST. I do agree with you that they'll overpay though.

guys as an outsider, I wonder why UPS is not kicking a** and instead has some guys on furlough. Brand-wise, it is as strong and could be stronger than FedEx in some aspects.

They are too busy trying to kick their own employees a** with 1950's style management practices. So focused on internal "loss prevention" and other cost saving initiatives that they don't even realize that they have become a bloated, inbred bureaucracy. I could go on for pages but I think you get the basics...

Stepping over dollars to save a dime, they are a trucking company, they hate the pilots because they can't bully them like everybody else, bloated, scared and incompetent management, giant bureaucracy, conservative to the point of being lazy due to current barriers of entry to their niche, cheap, arrogant.... For starters.

Roger that, received guys. Again, as an outsider, I think the tools/assets/people are in-place, talented and trained. The brand itself, its up there with CocaCola and Xerox. Everyone knows the brown truck is UPS. etc

I think UPS has a great place in the market. FedEx, is admittedly the next-day brand, but some of us need Shamu shipped or documents but not the next day, maybe two days. Etc.

maybe things will come around. Take care

Straight From Boeing
Quote: Big rumor that UPS needs more aircraft for the postal contract work that they expect to be awarded (30-35%).
Any predictions?
Rumor on the street is the 787F. Boeing has several "open" slots at this time and the rumor is UPS will use its' political clout to get as many as needed.

Y'all be careful out there.

What about if you needed your pandas shipped? We have a varsity team that we put in for that, at FDX.

Hey UPS guys...Do you use the varsity to move Shamu around? Or, can your JV line pilots, handle that?
