Default FDX out of KCM program today

We're out too, like UPS. Hope they pony up the $36 for us. With all the penny pinching with the corporate initiatives, not bloody likely.

For the past several years, FedEx has participated in a ‘pilot
program/evaluation’ at no charge while the TSA reviewed and approved the
program.

The ‘pilot program/evaluation’ is now over and the program has been
approved by the TSA. We have also been apprised of the charges (by the
vendor administering the program) that the Corporation would be billed if
we elect to continue using KCM. There is also approximately one month of
programming to be done internally, once a decision is made. If you have
been using KCM during the pilot process you will not be able to do so
effective Thursday, February 14, 2013.

At this time, we are evaluating the costs and work involved. Once a
decision has been made, we will apprise all by FCIF.

Is this an example of "Just Culture" or "Catching Excellence"?

Well...I could see UPS dropping out to save $35 a pilot, our nimrod CEO blew TNT and lost $270 million and needs to save his bonus, but Fred?

Welcome to the party!

I thought Spirit was the only airline too cheap to pony up $3/month per pilot (yes, that really is the cost of KCM).

Rumor is, Lee Moak was so worked up about an ALPA mainline carrier not being in KCM that he tried to work out some kind of deal with Spirit's CEO. Not surprisingly, Spirit still doesn't have KCM.

Moak must be really upset now that Fed Ex, a pilot group he actually cares about, doesn't have it ($ talks, and Spirit's dues income isn't comparable to Fed Ex's).

At least Fed Ex and UPS don't have to go through TSA passenger check points EVERY day.

This is how the company wishes us all a "Happy Valentines Day".

I think you're making a big assumption....that Moak gives two poos about FDX pilots!

Default Unbelievable

Just had a Same Duty Period D/H in IND-MEM, short connection. Walked up to the KCM agent and he said that FedEx and UPS are no longer able to use the checkpoint as of "TODAY". I said you got to be kidding me, just used it last week, he said sorry, as of today no longer aloud.

WOW, thanks for the heads up.

Some of our "in-house" checkpoints are worse than a TSA run operation ...

No one says you have to deviate! Wait in line and if the flight departs...oh well!

Actually, according to the KCM guidelines, it make sense in a way. Cargo pilots are not operating flights out of passenger terminals.
