I've been out sick for about 24 days (my rotator cuff thanks me) possibily for another 6 weeks, but have mitigated some sick bank usage so far since I had a week of VAC in late March and now have a week this week.

I got the email from the PAC today about the FMLA saying that info that the company has says my "absence suggests I may be entitled to FMLA protection." Still waiting for the call back from HArvey Watt on that one!

I've always used SCK for being SCK, and have been down to 0 DSA twice (currently about 300) thanks to my orthopedic surgeon.

You have (one of these) banks. A trip pops into open time. DH to (your home town) operate or HTSBY or something easy, operate back to... your home town, DH to base. Great trip, easy to do, lots of credit for little time away. Problem is, everyone else thinks so too, lots of requests for M/U or VLT. Sure, you would love the money now, everyone does, but requesting a trip is not the same as getting it.
If you have a full or nearly full sick bank, this is a better play than hoping you can beat the BOTS. It isn't instant gratification, but its real money never the less.
Are you saying MUS will beat MU? Thats not what the contract says.

If you request a MUS trip and are then awarded the trip, can you drop it later if needed?

It's funny that all these make-up codes and the order or precedence for processing still don't prevent the "Usual Suspects" from getting all the good charter trips. Are these guys perpetually sick or take the first 5 weeks of vacation to go in the hole? Processing of bid line adjustments is just another area that the Secret Kingdom veils in secrecy, despite contractual language which which should ensure fairness.

In reality, the processing order only makes a difference at about 8am mem time. After they finish the 1st cup of coffee the process the open time request that came in between 6 and 8. The rest of the day it seems to be a first come first serve deal. At least that has been my experience. You can have all the priority make up you want, but unless you put the request in before the scheduler assigns the trip it makes no difference.

Believe me, when my wife went into labor, I was sick! And Don M would have had no way to challenge me on that!
