FDX 777 Bid...

Vague rumors circulating of upcoming 777 vacancy bid. Flies in the face of logic, I know. My F/O told me he heard it...

They get to reshuffle the deck as many times as they want, they own the cards.

Agree. Just surprised given the recent thread (possibly false?) about two additional 777 slots xcld. Seems like mostly bad news economically, rumored reduction in ANC flying (I just bid up there so that figures).

Anyway, a vacancy bid is much preferred over an excess.
On the bright side we retained the postal contract.

Clutch

from the Posting 13-04 FCIF:

Future Bids
At this time, no bids are planned for the rest of calendar year 2013 unless system form changes would dictate otherwise.

Sorry for going off on a tangent, but if you down bid and incur a two-year seat lock when does the two-year term end? LOE date? Activation date? I don't see anything in the contract that specifically states when the seat lock ends, but I'm sure someone will point out chapter and verse as well as reprimand me for not knowing the contract :D

This would be such wonderful news for the folks that were forced off of the 777 by the excess process!!!! :D

....... Except that many of them won't be senior enough to hold it again on the vacancy bid....

Umm, is that an answer?

Seat lock is based on the 2 year anniversary of your activation date, the day after IOE ends.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 11:31 AM.
