FedEx future fleet plans?
FedEx Corp. Accelerates Aircraft Retirements - Yahoo! Finance
This article only really talks about the accelerated retirements and not of the future fleet numbers. Are the deliveries of aircraft for fleet modernization anywhere close to these numbers for aircraft retirements?

I don't think the "current" fleet plan is exactly accurate. But this still isn't really new news. Taking a look at the global economy, global shipping trends, and changes in technology (3-d printers...) the make up of FedEx express shipping is going to change a lot in the next few years. A smaller fleet with a much higher percentage of narrow body aircraft than what we've enjoyed in the past.
Glad we permanently locked in that narrow body pay rate to "protect wide body seats......"

This will be messy but here you go.

An interesting note about the fleet plan. We had lot more 727's ten years ago then we (appear) to be replacing with 757's. I don't remember the exact number, but I thought we had north of 150 727's at its peak. Not looking like we even plan to come close with the 75.

With this latest fleet 'realignment,' does anyone know how/ if this will affect those in the pool? I know a buddy who is still waiting for a class date- hasn't heard ANYTHING from FDX themselves, just rumor.... Can anyone shed a sliver of light into a very dark room?

From the investor relations news release... Interesting that we buy gas at $3.16/gallon (pays to buy in bulk).
Stay focused guys, "We're in negotiations..." suddenly air freight is dying...? :roll eyes) company comms during neg. are designed make you feel like you should be happy to have what you got now... keeps expectations low. Read "Confessions of a Union Buster" if you haven't. Great insight to what goes on behind the scenes; if it didn't work they wouldn't pay a ton of $$ to do it.
FedEx Express Aircraft Fleet Facts
As of Feb. 28, 2013, FedEx Express’s fleet totaled 660 aircraft, including 368 jet aircraft.
During the four quarters ended Feb. 28, 2013, FedEx Express spent $3.8 billion on 1.2 billion gallons of jet fuel.
The B757 is significantly more fuel efficient per pound of payload and has 20% additional payload capacity than the B727 it replaces.
The B767 will provide similar capacity as the MD10s, with improved reliability, an approximate 30% increase in fuel efficiency and a minimum of a 20% reduction in unit operating costs.
The B767 shares spare parts, tooling and flight simulators with the B757.

But seriously, I would not pass up another job while waiting for a call from Fedex.
