FedEx off runway ORD
FedEx plane stuck in mud at O'Hare, closing runway
CHICAGO As Chicago battles a fierce winter storm that skirted Tennessee, a FedEx plane has become mired in the mud, closing a runway at O'Hare International Airport.
The plane belonging to the Memphis-based package delivery company has its nose gear and left wheels off the runway and in the mud.
A spokeswoman for the Chicago Aviation Department says O'Hare has only one runway open.
United Airlines preemptively canceled 385 flights yesterday to give customers enough times to change travel plans.
American Airlines also has canceled all of its inbound and outbound flights from O'Hare.

Um....no. The aircraft, like all mechanical things, do eventually break. Which is the reason you even have a job to go to every day.
Bottom line is until a better way shows up, both pilots and mechanics are required to keep the planes in the air. Take either one away, and they gather dust.

I was there tonight and making the trun the controller said "In case you haven't been here lately it's a sharp 140 degree trun" now I know why.
Wasn't really that sharp and a lot of concrete.
