I got tired of looking through 100+ old posts concerning SUB so here's my question
- trip gets cancelled that puts me in long SUB (57 hr trip). If I get offered a 48 hour trip as sub, can I refuse the trip/refuse SUB, get OTP and immediately pick the trip up at OTP and get paid at that 125%? I saw an earlier post years ago from DLAX I think that said
"you just can't decline a trip while in SUB and then use OTP to pick that trip back up."
I can't find that in the contract anywhere though. Thx

Admittedly looking at a 30 Oct 2006 paper copy of CBA, but try....
Section 25.L.4.b
To paraphrase...
A pilot in OTP may submit for a specific trip from available OT, but not for a trip which he rejected as a sub assignment
I'd be surprised if this verbiage has changed in latest CBA

Just checked 2011 CBA on line.
It's still there...same section:
4. Open Time Priority In Lieu of Substitution (OTP removal code, PMU add code)
A pilot in OTP (as described in Section 25.H.11.) may submit for assignment of trips from open time in accordance with the following:
a. He shall remain in OTP status until the close of the final bid period of pay protection, as described in Section 4.N.1. (PMU Trip Pay).
b. He may submit for a specific trip(s) from available open time, but not for a trip which he rejected as a substitution assignment.
The submission shall be processed in the order received among other submissions in OTP status, but ahead of all other open time submissions.
This priority is guaranteed only for PMU submissions made prior to 0900 LBT, at least 48 hours prior to the showtime of the identified trip.
