Sad news! Far too many of our own have passed or become sick. Take the time to have fun and enjoy the friendship of the ones we are fortunate to fly with.

Yes, good point! Isn't anyone concerned about the number of our brothers/sisters who are departing wayyyy too soon?

What's going on?

My doctor says, "FATIGUE!" ... No kidding

But Cargo pilots don't need the same crew rest as pax pilots!*?

I agree. These FCIF's are happening way too often. Why does this keep happening. Very sad.

No source says cause of death. He was on sick leave since July I believe. Gone way too soon. Rest in peace Eric.

Don't know for sure but if it was a few months it was probably cancer. I wish someone kept track of this stuff. I wonder if more guys get these diseases flying long haul as opposed to short haul. A certain AME always exhibits concern over radiation for long haul crew members.

I have always wondering what being on the road, sleeping in hotel rooms (I don't think anybody stays at the Four Seasons), flying during weird hours, being away from family, etc does to one's health. Also, it is hard to work out on the road, and eat perfectly on the road.

There are numerous published studies/articles on the effects of (night) shift work on the health of workers. Then add in the other factors you mention and it isn't hard to paint a bleak picture.
