Default Philippines - after the typhoon?

Posting this in the Cargo section because of all the FDX pilots living in the P.I.

How is everyone doing after the typhoon? From here in my East Coast U.S. dining room it looks like SFS missed the worst of the storm?

Anything we can do to help out in a time of need?

Yes.

FEDEX PILOT ASSISTS WITH RELIEF EFFORTS IN THE PHILIPPINES

FedEx Hong Kong-based First Officer Michael Wood has been in the Central Philippines since the onset of Typhoon Haiyan. First Officer Wood has organized a relief effort out of Cebu providing food, medical supplies, and building materials for the stricken outlying areas that have little to no access to the relief coming in from other organizations. He has utilized trucks and dive boats out of Cebu to ship the needed supplies to these coastal areas, which have been cut off due to the roads being wiped out or just being so far off the beaten path that they are not able to receive supplies from the main effort.

F/O Wood is targeting much of his relief effort to the thousands of residents who are unable to get to the main relief-distribution centers. Much of his focus has concentrated on Malapascua Island, Tubod Isabel in Leyte, and Daanbantayan. He is currently looking to expand to additional areas that are not currently receiving assistance.

FedEx Hong Kong-based pilots have contributed more than $10,000 in a 48-hour period toward these relief efforts. Additional donations are still greatly needed and will certainly be put to good use. If you would like to help First Officer Wood as he takes on this huge effort, please contact Captain Jon Omey at [email protected]

Amount is up to 25,000...1/4 of what China donated....

Another HK pilots son who was visiting his father in HK, dropped everything, and went there to help Woody.

GW carrier group on station and making a huge difference.

Just sent a hundred bucks. Paypal says it went to "Yolanda Relief". Too many times to Clark and Subic not to feel sorry for a people who have nothing....but always a smile on their face. Remember those bumper stickers "WWJD?" (what would Jesus do?), well, he'd be doing what Woody's doing.
