reminds me when I was single pilot, many years ago, set up for "straight in" to KEYW (civilian field) by approach and I was by default also lined up for Key West Navy. Sunset. Landing light on. called the (wrong) field in sight and handed to KEYW tower. "November XYZ, yes you are in sight, cleared to land"

Thank god it was sunday when I did the low approach and continued to KEYW

these things unfortunately can and do happen, if the devilish chess pieces are lined up (no pun intended)

Anyone who is flown into Wichita at night knows this is an easy mistake to make (Many Airports in close proximity). We definitely need to be a little more vigilant and back up approaches when tired and dark out.

On RNAV 19L, WARUN is halfway between Jabara and Beech. Supposed to cross WARUN at or above 3000'.

Lol.

Seriously though, glad nobody was hurt. Gonna be interesting to read the report on this one. Be vigilant out there folks!

This happened at purple a while back in the 727..... happened to be a management crew. "hey, nobody saw that so lets take off and not tell anyone." Oops!

I am familiar with this area having flown there a lot, and the Dreamlifter is supposed to land at McConnell which is where Spirit loads the new 787 bodies. I wonder if it really is stuck there, I tend to doubt it.
