Problem or no Problem?

So the last video from the Negotiating Chairman he said if PBS was in the Company's next offer "Houston we have a problem".

I just watched the MEC Chair's video and he says it was a good session but PBS is still there. He actually addressed the fact that we did 24 months of interim talks and we were now approaching 12 months of section six. He says FedEX should step up and do the right thing, but here we are. I want to hear from him what we are doing, not the fluff that seems to be in the video.

So is it "unicorns and rainbows" or "do we have a problem"?

Read that one, I'm referring to The Chairman's message 1/1/14.

People flew draft, picked-up straight time extra trips, sold back massive vacations, flew DP's. There were several weather events and operational emergencies that pilots fell all over themselves to help out the company with. That's what we are doing. Why wouldn't the company drag their feet? They just got through another peak season under a less expensive contract. Think they'll try for another? The negotiating committee doesn't have any ability to force management to negotiate. The company will negotiate when it is in their best interest.

But at least they wore their 767 or 777 lanyards.....

I agree with everything you say.

I actually like the fact the the Negotiating Chair seemed to finally have a strong, get tough public position "Houston we have a problem". However, most recent message seems like a little bit of back pedaling.

In those videos, He's speaking to the FDX final decision makers who are above their negotiation team, just as much as he's speaking to us

He doesn't communicate directly with their top decision makers while the deals being done

The top guys only meet at (or near) the very end

He's signaling his willingness to start the final slow dance of the party now --- but at the same time articulating he simply can't with PBS music still playing in the background

And if those FDX final decision makers kinda like the status quo?
