Default Any World Airways Drivers out there?

Hey guys;
Just wondering what you can tell me about your QOL and trips and pay with the new contract. What do you typically make the first few years as an FO and then as a CA? How is the company? Is it one worth giving up a major (DL or Co) for?
Any info would help

Run a search on this board and flightinfo and you'll find several recent threads to answer most of your questions. The pay scales on this site are accurate. We have several furloughed major pilots here, but I'm not sure I would give up seniority to work here.

What I am saying is this. I have a gurantee of an interview when DL starts hiring. I had a class in '01 at DL and the rest is history. What I am asking is, knowing that you have a two year training contract, is it worth coming there and giving up the reinterview at DL.

I also have one more question. I have a kid that is due to arrive in mid April. It looks like I will finish training in April. How likely would it be for them to work with me and let me be home for the birth of my first child?

They're pretty good about stuff like that. I was present for the birth of my two kids.

They will work with you if you work with them.

I think the thing you have to be honest about is that the end of the war is in sight and that will effect things at World as well. There is quite a bit of uncertainty at World with North American, the Cliton Group, and the normal ebb and flow of military business factored in.

At the end of the day, its your call.

The end of the war is in sight? Really? When? 2017 perhaps. The end of hostile resistance was declared in '03. The Gulf War ended in 1991 and we did not leave Saudi Arabia until about 2002 and drew down in in Turkey at the same time. We'll stay around in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Kyrgystan, Iraq, and Afghanistan until each nation shows us the door (like Uzbekistan did). World has plenty of mil business to look forward to.
