When we play the right piece correctly, the door will open.

Again, you can't play well with kazoos.

"Don't bring a knife to a gun fight."

Exactly.
True leadership, a plan of action, and a force to make it happen is the key.
Lacking any one of these 3 will result in mediocre performance and eventual defeat.

I respect the efforts of the MEC, NC, block reps, and committee volunteers.
I trust these guys work hard and care about making a difference ... most of the time (unless politics becomes more important).

The problem with negotiations is we are outgunned and have consistently been out-maneuvered ... not just this time, every single time.
It's simply a broken ALPA model and an RLA process that favors the company from day one.
We fly airplanes, we are not experienced RLA attorneys.

This contract will eventually get done.
If you can guess the approval date of a TA, then I want to go hit the tables in Vegas with you.

Intelligent, grown men and women, with a unity of purpose and individual resolve can get it done.

Time for some levity!

These guys did pretty good with some kazoos! The guy is the lower left corner must be their Rudi...perpetually ****ed off.

New guy question, but what does Informational Picketing actually mean? What's the next step?

Practically speaking there is no next step. Essentially we negotiate until one side requests and is granted permission for self help. At which time we are free to strike, they are free to impose their terms (such as PBS). There is a pretty good summary of the process on the MEC website. There is some mediation (UPS current status) and arbitration but that will be a joke with this company.

that description of the RLA process is very misleading & disjointed

"informational picketing" is just that - walking around with signs ("picketing") that have information on them that is designed to inform the reader

I hardly ever post... Figured I would look and see what was up here... All I have to say is, I have my hat and blazer ready and all my ducks are in a row financially. I am ready and my negotiating committee speaks for me. PBS is an absolute deal breaker. Together we must stand strong.
