It is not that I don't trust RF, I don't trust anybody that stands behind him and supports him and gives him his limited ability to truly manage. CPs at other airlines have the ability to take a furloughed guys resignation letter and put in a special file, that could never happen here. This place is run by lawyers and accountants from OM.

There is no doubt that RF is a step up. He is at least fun to go drink a beer with at the bar.

Most important item: What's his stance on leather jackets?

Worked with him quite a bit, great guy for now...

After JL I came to the conclusion the SCP can't really do anything. They are disciplinarians for the more powerful directorates that Lord over Flt Operations. Scheduling, GOC, Jumpseats. This is why scheduling keeps calling guys on the road in rest to offer them draft trips. They know it's wrong but won't do anything to change. The SCP has no teeth to influence their bad behavior. IT lets us know there has been a change in ViPs when we see FxCal (or Chrome/Firefox) break on that page. IT is doing a lot to modernize Ops. They're just not busy doing anything the pilots want and often need.

BM changed my mindset and not toward the positive. Uniforms, AOC remodel, QA program, almost total disregard of operational limits. Don't know about that last one? pull a DO aside and ask them. DO and scheduling have a script they've been given to handle your questions. The key is they make you go fatigued instead of honoring the CBA.

RF has to be, by default, a positive change.

I agree ... In my 20 years here JL might have been the only SCP that I thought cared about the crew force and "tried" to change things for the better! Thanks Jack!

I'm not sure how long BM has been in that job but can anybody (anybody!) name even one thing he did that improved the operation? I really don't care about the new interior decorating in the AOC! But ... at least he has a nice new car and we still have our winter parkas (without dorky rank insignia on them)

RF seems like a good guy, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Bingo. Every other department in this company has control (sh!t on) over flight ops.

We are turning into a trucking company with airplanes.

Unfortunately the position is really more like the Vice Principal of Flt Ops. One of the bus drivers told me they were going to reissue the paddle for all the bad boys and girls?

I doubt BM had anything to do with the AOC remodel. PC was talking about that before BM took over. But to answer your question Mayday, I can't think of any positives from BM.

I can think of a lot of positives from a BM but not any from BM! :D
