UPS - Invited to complete on line process

Got an email today from UPS as follows:

"Thank you for completing the application for the UPS pilot position. We would like for you to continue to the next step in our selection process which involves completing two on-line assessments. These assessments will determine which applicants are invited for an on-site interview. Please click on the link below to receive instructions and continue. Both assessments should take no more than an hour to complete."

I understand this is part of the new 2007 application process. Has anyone taken the assessments or know what they are about? Any gouge material greatly appreciated!

This is definitely new. Looks like you're the guinea pig here. Let everyone know what it's all about.

This is the first that I've heard of this. I would think that it is more of a personal nature where gouge may not help. I understand that you want to know what they are going to "assess", but obviously, they liked something for you to get that email. The quicker you do it, the quicker you may get in for an interview.

Good luck to you, and you may just be the first guinea pig!

Edit: Dang, Archie, you're fast to the trigger!

Please let us know what they ask

Took the "Assessment" this morning. Essentially it was 2 blocks of Psychological profile type yes/no questions (160 & 200 questions repectively in each block). It took me about 45 mins to accomplish. Questions ranged from: How to you percieve yourself (work ethic, relationships, appearance, etc), How do others see you, Do you get along and work well with others, etc.. Bottom line: same questions asked different ways, but looking for consistent answers. Obviously limited ablility to prep for it. Heck I took it cold & maybe that was the best way.

Talked to a few freinds @ UPS (very recent hires) & they knew nothing of this process either.

End result was that Buzz Thompson from HR called me later in the afternoon to offer an interview. :)

Congratulations and good luck!

Congrats and Good Luck. When did you first put your profile in? I assume you had one in prior to the recent 2007 "email".
